Coastal Security Association Team


Ambassador Timothy Broas -- former U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands with deep connections with Dutch industry and expertise in coastal water security. Ambassador Broas has been deeply involved in the water security industries in Holland. He also serves as a Partner in the law firm of Holland & Hart LLP. He graduated from Boston College, and with a law degree from William and Mary.

Vice Admiral Lee Gunn (ret.) -- Navy, facility and ship technology expertise, climate and water impact expertise -- served as Inspector General of the Department of the Navy, and as President of the CNA Institute for Public Research.  Gunn also serves as: President of the American Security Project, a bi-partisan national security think tank in Washington, DC; Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA; an advisor to the Global Perspectives Initiative at the University of Central Florida: and a member and Executive Board member of the Surface Navy Association, the professional association of more than 7,000 surface warriors and supporters. He served as President of the Surface Navy Association from 2001-2006. Gunn holds a bachelor’s degree in Experimental and Physiological Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.​ 

Mr. Michael Lyon -- organized team around the CSA mission, brings global business development, technology, finance and legal background to CSA.  Michael Lyon is with Lyon Capital Services, works with a variety of technology and space-sector firms, and is a graduate of the Harvard Law School, and attended the London School of Economics and Brandeis University.
